New home, new date!
Geelong’s Great Australian Beer Festival (GABF) celebrates its 8th anniversary with a number of exciting changes with a new location at the iconic Johnstone Park in Geelong’s CBD, and a new date 18th January, 2020. Across the road from Geelong train station, getting to the event has never been easier, whether you’re travelling from Melbourne, Regional Victoria or within Geelong itself
While the event is primarily a massive alfresco beer tasting and appreciation event, it’s also a live music feast running from 1pm to 8pm. GABF will feature nationally recognized performers including Sneaky Sound System, Kim Churchill, Kite Machine, The Run and Gary Jones (winner Geelong’s best busker).
New breweries include Brick Lane, Darraweit Valley Cider, Daylesford Cider, Jetty Road and Moon Dog. Whilst some alternatives to beer in cider include Archive wine bar serving up wine and cheese platters, Botanical Brew with alcoholic Jun Kombucha and Queenscliff Brewhouse with gin cocktails.
We are joined this year by Big Boys Kebabs (self explanatory!), Sidewalk Cantina with Mexican fare and the Marrma’ Rom Foundation serving up fundraising snags!
The new Barrett Burston Brewers Table will be led by Pete Mitcham with beer lovers having the opportunity to meet and mingle with the brains behind the brands.
GABF is designed to appeal to more than just beer lovers and is a colourful, social and family-friendly event.
