How do I buy tastings and food?
Geelong Beer Festival is a 100% cashless event. You’ll need a valid Visa, Mastercard or American Express credit, debit or EFTPOS card to purchase food, drinks and merchandise. No cash at all is accepted by any of the vendors.

How much does each tasting cost?
Beer or cider will start at $2.50 for an 80ml tasting, or $6.50 for a full 285ml standard serve. Brews are also available to purchase in cans. Beers are at or just below bar prices. Speciality brews or high ABV brews may be charged at a higher price. Check with the individual brewers before making your purchase.

Where is Geelong Beer Festival being held and what time is the festival?
Johnstone Park, Geelong CBD. Across the road from Geelong train station.

Saturday 20th Jan: 12pm-8pm.

Can I buy tickets at the gate?
Unless sold out prior, tickets will be available at the gate.

Can children come?
Children are welcome. Children 12 and under are free, 13 to 17 year olds are $20. Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult at all times, even if they are 17 years old they cannot wander around by themselves, as this is a fully licensed event.

What about pets?
We love animals, but not at this gig.

Can I bring my own food and drink?
Sorry, but no you can’t. This is a fully catered event. There will be a range of gourmet food suppliers, coffee, and free water available. We are ensuring there are many food stalls that cater for special dietary requirements. Please don’t bring any food on the day as it will be confiscated. You can bring sealed bottles of water, or an empty vessel to fill onsite from one of our many water stations.

Can I bring my own seating or picnic rug?
Make yourself comfortable! You can bring picnic rugs and deck chairs. Please note, they cannot be placed on walkways, or directly in front of the stage… we want everyone to be able to move freely around the event and taste the many beers on offer!

How will beers be served?
Beers can be served in either 80ml or 285ml tastings or in cans.

Is smoking allowed?
Yes, there will be designated smoking area.

I don’t want to drive, what is the best way to get to the festival?
Johnstone Park is located directly opposite the Geelong Train Station and minutes from local bus routes. Super easy to get there, and super easy to get home, or head out for dinner or kick on after the event.

What accommodation is available in Geelong?
Try our accommodation partner Holiday Inn & Suites. They are only 100m up the road! There is a large selection of accommodation options in Geelong. For accommodation assistance call Geelong Tourism on 1800 755 611.

What If there is smoke haze or poor air quality?
You can monitor the EPA categories for smoke haze at EPA Airwatch . Please consider the recommendations for your own health and wellbeing.

Can I get a passout?
Yes your wristband serves as your passout. Be aware that re-entry is only through the main entry and you will be subject to a bag check again.

What if the event is cancelled, do I get a refund?

Ticket purchases are underwritten by the Victorian Government through our COVID event cancellation insurance whereby a full refund will be provided given cancellation of the event due to restrictions applied by Government bodies. Tickets may also be rolled over to a new date in 2024.

What if I can’t make it and want to sell my ticket?

There is only one official way for ticket resale. Please don’t sell or buy via social media, as scams are rife and there is no recourse whatsoever. Please use our official resale option via Tixel.

I’ve lost/misplaced my ticket
When you purchased your ticket, it was emailed to you, so please check junk mail folders. The first time an email address buys an eventbrite ticket, an account is created for that email address. So you can use your eventbrite account to find all ticket(s) bought via that email address. Please see here for more info
